In this blog I have mentioned some movies which I personally think deserve more attention and recognition, I think a Bollywood fan must give them a try.
I call these movies underrated because I think people don’t talk much about them, and they are kind of unrecognisable.
I have shortlisted some of the best underrated Hindi films, which I consider underrated movies Bollywood.
So in the year 2025, if you are looking to watch something different, here are some of the best underrated Hindi movies or most overlooked Hindi movies in my opinion.
1. CityLights
An Underrated Bollywood Movie, it showcases a Family of three and their hard struggles just to make a simple living.
The Movie Starts where a man trying to make enough money to take care of his wife and daughter but it’s not easy to make money in a small town then he ends up in a big city where he finds out that even here it’s not easy to survive and he and his wife have to acts which are against their will.
One of the most Underrated Movies in Bollywood.
You will feel more Grateful after watching this underrated Hindi movie, this shows how much a person struggles in Big cities just to provide his family a good life.

2. Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year
An Underrated and Overlooked Hindi Movie, a Newly Graduate enters the field of Sales and tries to make something better.
The Movie Begins when Harpreet graduates and joins a company as a Salesman he was passionate in the beginning but soon he realized that things are not going how he supposed to be. He gets frustrated and decides to do things his own way and makes other colleagues join him. watch Movie to know how much he succeeded and at what cost.
One of the Best Underrated Movies in Bollywood in the Comedy Genre.

3. Dhoondte Reh Jaaoge
One of the best underrated Bollywood movies, a comedy movie which was a flop in its initial release but loved by fans now and claimed to be an overlooked hindi comedy film.
A movie Director Raj Chopra and chartered accountant Anand Pawar came up with a plan to make quick money, and they arranged an investment worth 105 crore and decided to make a movie with 5 crore, making sure that movie must be a flop with the worst cast and production possible so they can grab the rest of the 100 crore, but it’s just a plan; there is no surety of things going as planned.
Frequent comedy scenes and punchlines make this movie a good timepass.

4. Masaan
An underrated Hindi movie in the Drama Genre, the Movie showcases stories of different people struggling with social rejection in a small town.
The movie reflects how social sanctions and moral laws make people suffer in society; this is the story of a girl socially guilty for having sexual relations and a father whose morality is fading, and in the same town a boy in love with a girl from another caste and a kid seeking family love.
Fans claim it to be a Mirror to society and an underrated Hindi film.
The movie takes you to a small town and draws attention to the life, social structure, and mentality of the people in it.

5. Ankhon Dekhi
This movie will make you think and question whether the character was insane or was thinking beyond people’s perspective.
A man in his retirement age one day finds his daughter is dating a boy with a bad reputation in society and goes to beat the boy but eventually finds the boy innocent and himself wrong and manipulated by society; that day he decides that for the rest of his life he would only believe in things he has seen or saw or experienced. This decision makes his life and people’s perspectives completely change about each other.
Director Rajat Kapoor is himself an underrated director, and fans claim this movie is a gem and the most underrated Hindi movie.

6. Karwaan
Irrfan Khan and Road Trip movie fans claim it is a part of the Hindi Underrated Movies.
Avinash working in Bangalore one day gets a call informing him that his father got into an accident and won’t survive and they are sending the body through cargo, but Avinash received another body and found out that the cargo company had misplaced his father’s body to someone else and to get his father’s body and done the last rituals he goes all the way to Kochi through road in a van with his friend and a teenage girl, On the way to Kochi they had crazy road trip experience full of chaos.
A Bollywood underrated movie, which is an amazing mood-refreshing comedy film.

So this was my list of some worth watching underrated Bollywood movies. This includes some movies with famous casts and some well recognized artists.
