Underrated Tamil Movies, Must Watch Tamil Underrated Movies.

The Tamil film industry is one of the top leading film industries in India every year they produce big budget films to high effort artistic films which are as diverse as Tamil culture from small budget small town stories to high budget international standards movies they have produced some amazing gem movies but there are also some movies which deserve to recognized which are commonly known as Underrated Tamil Movies.

The Tamil film industry used to be a small regional film industry but now they have world recognition in making good films, this industry is full of masterpieces which are worldwide famous but there are also some movies which are not much known but this doesn’t mean they don’t deserve recognition they are good films but overlooked for some reasons.

Here I have shortlisted some of the best underrated Tamil movies, which I consider Tamil underrated movies. I have mentioned the name and details of some movies from the Tamil underrated movies list, which I think deserve more recognition.

1. Rajathandhiram

An underrated Tamil movie.

A group of friends try to rob a large amount of money quickly but it’s not an easy task to do.

Arjun and his two friends runs a group which is into frauding people and successfully making a decent living; story turns when Arjun fell in love with a girl name Michelle who have some financial issues in her life; to help her out they decides to rob a large amount of money but it is not appear to be a easy job and getting troubles are obvious and the only strength they have is their intelligence.

An underrated thriller movie from the Tamil film industry, the heist is the centre of this movie and the unexpected twists makes the movie interesting and worth watching for plot twists.

2. Andhaghaaram

Three different characters are connected through a supernatural activity seeking release.

This is a story of three people disturbed by different things in their life, a blind librarian struggling with his past needs revenge, a psychiatrist dealing with a mysterious case which is affecting his life, and a desperate cricketer haunted by eerie phone calls damaging his mental health, they are somehow connected through a supernatural activity.

An underrated horror mystery film from Tamil cinema that challenges your mind to find what is happening with deep suspense and not like an ordinary horror film, must watch for every Tamil movie fan.

3. Super Deluxe

Another good film from the underrated Tamil movies genre, four different stories in a city that strangely meet each other; each one is unique and fun to watch.

This is a story of a kid desperate to meet his father, a young boy who is losing his senses after finding his mother’s truth, an unfaithful wife who gets into an accident after cheating on her husband, and a priest who claims he has found the divine truth. These stories run parallel to each other, but at a point a story collides with another.

One more underrated Tamil movie in the comedy genre, worth watching till the plot twists.

4. Anbe Sivam

This is an underrated Tamil movie that every Kamal Haasan and R. Madhavan fan should watch. Two strangers meet on a journey and discover how much their lives are interconnected.

The movie revolves around the two main characters and their comedic journey. The story begins with a young, materialistic ad filmmaker, Anbarasu (R. Madhavan), who gets stranded at the airport due to heavy rain. He ends up travelling with a disfigured man named Nallasivam (Kamal Haasan), where they get to know each other, and the disfigured man turns out to be a wise man and a former communist-socialist who was in love with a girl.

5. Gargi

This movie is one of the most underrated Tamil movies in the crime drama genre of the Tamil film industry, it’s a story of a daughter’s legal battle to defend her father in a court case.

Gargi, a school teacher living a simple life with her mother, younger sister, and father, who works as a security guard, Their world shudders when Gargi’s father gets arrested in a case of a minor’s sexual assault; this case makes the entire family face massive social judgements and hurdles. To defend her father, she barely manages to get an advocate, but he has zero courtroom experience. Gargi tries her best to protect her family along with doing every possible thing to prove her father’s innocence in court.

So this was my list of some worth watching Underrated Tamil Movies. This includes recent to almost 2 decades old movies which are timeless masterpieces.

Also these movies are for every taste like Crime, Drama, Action, Thriller, Horror, Mystery.

Along with this also do check out some Underrated Hindi Movies.

At the moment this list is small but soon I will find and add more movies to expand the list for you.
